The Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment protects against the deprivation of an inmate’s essential human needs to include but not limited to food, clothing, medical care, exercise, sanitation, the duty to provide reasonable protection and other health and safety threatening conditions.

This webinar will review the United States Supreme Court decisions regarding conditions of confinement, specifically analyzing the deliberate indifference test and how it presents in a correctional setting.
